Over 4 weeks, you prepare 2 contrasting monologues and go through a structured cold reading process. Each piece is submitted as a video, reviewed by the instructor, and returned with written notes within 48 hours. You revise and resubmit. That cycle - perform, receive notes, revise - is where the actual learning happens, not in the initial preparation.
The cold reading problem
Most actors prepare their monologues well and fall apart in cold readings. Week 3 focuses entirely on this: how to scan a page in under 60 seconds, find the emotional core of a scene you have never read, and make a clear choice fast. It is a skill that can be trained, and most actors have never been taught it directly.
All session materials, including a structured preparation framework you can use as a download guide or reference as a printed download manual, are included. The framework covers material selection, rehearsal pacing, and a 12-point self-assessment checklist for the final week.
Format details
The course is fully asynchronous. No live sessions - everything runs on your schedule within weekly deadlines. Instructor turnaround on video submissions is 48 hours, 6 days a week. Class size is capped at 16 students so feedback quality stays consistent.
